BEEP for Ruby

This is a project to build a Ruby implementation of BEEP (Blocks Extensible Exchange Protocol), which is, to quote from the RFC: "a generic application protocol [...] for connection-oriented, asynchronous interactions".

This is distinct from the project listed on SourceForge, as it seems to be in a perpetual holding pattern. Not that progress on this project is going swimmingly fast...

I need to understand a bit better just how one might use the BEEP transport to accomplish tasks before I go much further. Please feel free to lend your suggestions on the using BEEP to do stuff page. I'd also like to flesh out a page describing some of the HighLevelGoals? for this work, too.
